Dental Cleaning
What is dental cleaning?
Dental cleaning involves removing mineralised and non-mineralized dental plaque, polishing tooth surfaces, and applying therapeutic agents such as fluoride. It is recommended to have a professional oral hygiene cleaning every 6 months.

When to do dental cleaning?
Regular, professional dental hygiene is recommended every 6 months to maintain good oral health and prevent tooth decay. This procedure is not only important for preventative measures but also before undergoing many dental treatments. If you experience any of the following symptoms: bleeding gums, redness, swelling, pain, persistent bad breath, or visible plaque on your teeth that cannot be removed with a brush, it’s important to schedule an appointment with an oral hygienist as soon as possible.
How much does dental cleaning cost?
The cost of a dental hygiene appointment is €80 – €100. However, for individuals with PRSI eligibility, the cost is reduced to €15.
