What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge is a custom-made appliance that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It is similar to a dental crown but is designed for cases where multiple teeth are damaged or missing. The bridge is permanently attached and is made to match the surrounding teeth for a natural appearance.
In what situations is a dental bridge recommended?
A dental bridge can be a good option for patients who are missing one or more teeth, and who are not suitable for an implant or do not want to undergo a surgical procedure. It can be used to replace a single tooth that has been extracted or to fill in gaps where adult teeth never erupted. If multiple teeth are missing in a row, a bridge with multiple false teeth can be designed. The bridge is attached to the teeth on either side of the gap and sits against the gums.
What is the process for getting a dental bridge?
At Cabra Dental Centre, the dentist will discuss the various options for dental bridges and determine the most suitable materials during your appointment. The procedure typically requires two visits: the first to prepare the teeth and take impressions, and the second to fit the new bridge. A temporary bridge may be provided after the first visit. Our on-site dental lab will fabricate the bridge. The process can be completed in 1-2 weeks and helps maintain the long-term structure of the mouth by preventing neighbouring teeth from shifting. How much does a dental bridge cost?
The total cost of the bridge will depend on how many teeth are being replaced. Each unit of the bridge costs from €600, depending on the material it is made from.
